Market appears to have overreacted with FLT's share price up over 5%. While I do not know the details of what is being offered, I can at least say that interest free does not equal fee free i.e. while you do not pay interest, there are usually a pile of fees to pay. I looked at Harvey Norman's 5 year interest free plan a few years ago. The fees amounted to the equivalent of a high interest rate (I think from memory it was in the mid teens p.a.). And the further rub is that if you get behind in payments, you cop the fees AND the interest. Based on Harvey Norman's figures, only the desperate and the stupid would take up the offer, and plenty do.
