I did see a video somewhere with a Port Hedland pilot saying that they could only move a maximum of 7 ships per day out of the harbour. They left 30 mins apart when the tide was in. He also said because of the dearth of australia having a decent size maritime industry where ship masters could be grown that it would be hard to replace the pilots in the future.
