It is widely accepted the the Ausd dollar is overvalued. The swiss are in a similar position and by printing like mad they have accumulated nearly there GDP worth of foreign currency - seems like free money!
There may be a time when that foreign currency will be sorely needed - when the $A is not the flavour of the month
Why not help our struggling domestic industries with a less inflated currency - we may need these industries when the resources boom is just a memory
and a free bonus we get a buckload of foreign currency or other assets if we so choose
