Reminds me of that George Orwell quote "some ideas are so preposterous that only an intellectual could possibly believe them".

It was only the nazis willingness to do what they thought had to be done. They started off with the most extreme cases for euthanasia, about which no reasonable people would object, @you wouldn't let a dog suffer like that, goes the argument"etc and before you know it you are sliding down the slippery slope. The same process is occuring in the Netherlands now with their euthanasia laws, there are calls to widen it, streamline it etc. Here we go again, except this time the people are demanding it! Same could be said about abortion with calls for late term/neonatal dispatch. There is no shortage of slippery slopes and they didn't go right out of fashion in 1945....
