Surely, as a first step to controlling the people any gov must make them feel GUILTY.

A small thing in the grand scheme of things I suppose but those god-awful CF lamps must be the perfect example. Flying into any city at night it is ablaze with light. What percentage of those lights would be someone's incandescent dunny light? Sweet FA I'd say but that is no good reason not to impose those poisonous monstrosities on us.
