As can be seen from the following it is not as black and white as you would like it to show, and when and if we have a plebiscite we will see the result and IMHO there is no evidence in the world that shows that the definition of the word marriage will be accepted by a majority

Days before Vienna Pride, the Austrian Parliament voted against a bill calling for the extension of the "the human right of equal marriage" to same-sex couples.
Of the 136 representatives in the Assembly, only 26 voted in favor of the marriage equality bill, while 110 voted against it.

Helga Ratzenboeck and Martin Seydl say they don't want a traditional marriage and insist that the law should be blind to gender and sexuality.
Meanwhile, the kind of pared-down marriage they want is proving a huge hit with straight couples in France, where 95% of couples taking up the pacte civil de solidarite (Pacs) in 2009 were heterosexual.
As the number of straight French couples opting for Pacs has grown, the number of marriages has shrunk, to the point that there are now two couples entering into a Pacs for every three getting married.

A Romanian group that campaigns to promote traditional family values called on lawmakers to change the constitution to ban same-sex marriage.
The Romanian constitution currently defines marriage as a union between “partners.” But the campaign group wants to see this changed to a union between “a man and a woman.”

Austria which goes back to the polls on Saturday (due to the last one being rigged so the greens would win)
Far-right Freedom Party presidential candidate Norbert Hofer has vowed to keep migrants out of Austria
Hofer, a former aeronautical engineer, has tried to assure voters they have nothing to be afraid of if he is elected. He has, however, threatened to sack the current government if it cannot control immigration. The Freedom Party has also called for Muslim institutions to be monitored and said it would not permit same-sex couples to marry or adopt children.
