Perhaps you need to re-read my comments. They were specifically aimed at whether or not an existing player would takeover the business. Market valuations are irrelevant for my point. For an entity to take the business over, they would have to run it. My point was that no existing player is likely to want to buy the company as a whole at its current valuations. I'm not saying no-one would want to buy it.

Moelis is a find manager. It invests in property, managed funds and equities, among others. Doe it want to become a service provider? Maybe. But it's unlikely to want to run the business and would need a new team to do that. It would also have to be convinced that it had something to offer into his space to make a buy-out compelling.

i have no doubt that there will be a purchase out there.....but not likely to be an existing player at these valuations......and no one entity is likely to want the the business as a whole. This is because the platform services combined with the fund services is a strategy and that many of OVH's competitors have struggled to understand the logic for.

When you refer to pros, I assume you mean in the broking and investor community. Sure, they don't think like I do......they're not close enough to the industry.

My comments refer to industry players, where the most natural market for a full buy out would be. And I know from talking to a number of them that they have no interest in making a tilt for OVH.
