I think a key difference here is the position in the Permian basin. The Delaware and Midland basin, which have a history of significant production, is very different to the Marfa basin which from what I can see has had negligible production.
whilst oil has been discovered in the Marfa basin, very little gas gone into production.
I guess that is where the opportunity lies for Helios, if they can prove the oil is economic to produce.
