The only educational example to share is "don't touch the trust" . Great money making for the legal folk and their is no winners only the legal team, who enjoy the nightmare. Honest people who do the right thing and follow the plans to a "T"
for succession and those who were receiving huge benefits was great until... They were advised be a legal eagle that they really didn't have to wait another 5-6 years to get the farms etc. as all they have to do is claim them now because they were going to be the beneficiaries anyway. Stupid is what stupid does and now it is quite common and does happen quite a lot because the trustees can't afford to fight so just give in and walk away. In this case where over $20m with top earnings built up by the parents is now lost. Not only to the parents but also the so called stupid beneficiaries , however
the solicitors, barristers and administrators have had ball and the Christmas party would have been a hoot.
Just see how many wills are no challenged with the legal costs be paid for out of that will and when the estate runs out of funds the cases are dropped.
