just a clarification re MonkeyDex post and explanation.
What MonkeyDex is saying in regards to O2 chemical generators is correct..however does not apply on Boeing 742, 743 and 744 fleets.
The chemical generators are only fitted to Boing 767 and airbus A330 in the qantas fleet..not sure about 737 ( i never trained on them ). The O2 bottles ar stowed in the forward compartment and supply the whole A/C o2 system..either on demand ( at outlets next to o2 mask compartment) to the demand o2 in the Cockpit and to all passenger/crew drop down masks in a decompression. It good for about 40mins of o2 for the whole A/C.
Sorry just wanted to clarify. Ex F/A and trained on all 74'S fleet, 76's and airbus A330.
