Hi dalek, No I've never shorted ANY shares, nor traded in and out on short time frames. It's no better than gambling imho.
Even during the depths of despair mid last year I hung on, and in fact topped up on all my blue chips. And I've been rewarded quite handsomely from doing so. I've sold out of property however except for my own house and 1 vacant block in a prime location. So far it's proved to have been a wise decision as prices have definitely fallen in the areas I owned property in. Long term it may or may not have been the correct decision. If property ever comes back to what I believe is fair and reasonable value I'll buy back in. If not I won't. There's plenty of other things to invest one's money in. And the gains one makes from any investment mean nothing if you don't convert them to real money in the bank at some point in time.
