rapid intensification isn't new ------ but, before, it was rare - now, it's becoming COMMON
it means something. Ozzies need to understand that things have changed and our cyclones can't be seen as they were in decades past.

back not many decades - storms intensifying by about 100 mph in 24 hours was highly unusual
now - it's almost expected - that's a big change.
