HML have announced a buy into a new fast food franchise, Birdzz, that bought the Wingstop franchise rights for Aust and NZ. They plan to open 110 restaurants within the next two years to cash in on what their market research has shown is an under serviced sector in the industry.
Wingstop is an aeronautical themed chain that serves up chicken wings and strips in a range of flavours in either classic or deboned format.
I looked at Wingstop's offering on line. 10 pieces for $9.99. Not sure if that is a good pricing point in Oz. This will prove a short term pressure for KFC, but the research is interesting in itself: suggests CKF is nowhere near its ultimate potential.
