I mean given the mandatory requirement for a taxi to have a Cabcharge terminal therefore making current EFTPOS competitors needing to install an extra terminal - paying 1 to 3 per cent in merchants fees, paying for overheads, employees and other business running costs, the 5% leaves nothing for commissions to drivers or a reasonable profit for said competitors. You need a large company that can take advantage of economies of scale to survive and profit from this 5% reduction.
