Did anyone post this brief item from the
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology that was published in May of this year? I may have missed it if somebody has already. Anyway, it appears to be a reference to the internal tests undertaken by P&G scientists in relation to OBJ technology application.
No less than 8 P&G scientists were involved, including Rosemarie Osborne who is listed as co-inventor (along with Jeffrey Edwards of OBJ) of the applicators that we now know as the magnetic wand (and the anticipated Wave II and III devices?).

Magnetic-based applicators that induce diamagnetic repulsion and induced charge permeation have potential to improve skin benefits following application of skin care moisturizer formulations by increasing stratum corneum penetration. We evaluated the skin barrier response to a moisturizer formulation containing niacinamide when applied with an applicator designed with specifically constructed magnetic microarray. Clinical evaluation of the magnet applicator was conducted in a 4-week, randomized and controlled forearm study of 54 white women aged 30-60 years old, with a baseline TEWL range of stratum corneum barrier function from 6-16 g/m2 /hr. The results indicated a significant improvement in skin barrier as determined by TEWL with the niacinamide formulation applied with the magnet applicator as compared to either no treatment or treatment with the niacinamide formulation applied by finger. The product was well tolerated regardless of application method, as indicated by low visual redness and dryness expert grades. These findings suggest that magnet applicators provide clinical benefits and offer a new approach toward enhancing the delivery of skin care moisturizer formulations to the skin.
