EVs pollute on average half as much for life cycle, mostly down to more efficient engines, and are working their way down to one third as power generation improves.
The effect of CO2 on the atmosphere is literally no more than an ambitious high school project.
Personally I’d prefer geoengineering with aerosol sulphurs to radiate a heat back into space, but despite the overwhelming advantages (it’d be extremely cheap and effective) the side effects on global rain patterns that are less than global warming are too difficult for politicians to swallow.
