BQT Solutions’ miPASS - Mifare Smart Card Technology chosen
Platform for Perth Transport Authority’s HQ Security System.
John Genner, Managing Director of BQT Solutions Limited (ASX Code: BQT) announced that BQT has been
awarded the contract to supply its miPASS - Mifare Smart Card reader technology to the Perth Transport
Authority (PTA) Head Quarters, to modernise the building’s Security Access Control System.
With the roll out of the City’s Perth “SmartRider” Transport Card (Mifare) it made sense to the PTA to find a
way to utilise the Transport Card for another application for its employees at the same time eliminating the
need to carry a Transport Card and an ID/Access control card.
BQT has worked closely with the PTA and its partners to deliver a solution that would do just that, by
understanding what their current system is and how a bridge could be built between their existing
infrastructure and the new technology (Mifare) “SmartRider” card.
Only through this process and years of experience and expertise in Mifare technology with security systems,
could BQT provide what the PTA was trying to achieve.
