Interesting article. Doesn't it miss however the other side of the equation....namely the dependence in China on USA trade? If they reduce their US $ balances they will depreciate the $ against the Yuan, ie, their goods become less competitive and trade is reduced.
I'm not an economist but a follower of physics....for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction....
