From information I have 50% of dogs that are treated by MPL have severe progressive disease.

For the newbies that means 50% of those dogs will be dead in let's say 6 to 8 weeks, if untreated.

PAA use the RECIST protocol to categorise Lymphoma B Cancer.

Complete Remission ( CR ) means disappearance of all target Cancer. It can be achieved. A certain big pharma had a 4.3% rate on Lymphoma B , but it's chemotherapy.

Partial Response (PR ) is where there is a 30% shrinkage of the target Cancer.

Progressive Disease (PD) is whereby with treatment that cancer increases by 20%.

Stable Disease (SD) is neither sufficient shrinkage to qualify for PR , nor sufficient increase to qualify for PD. To
evaluate this incorporates follow up at 6 to 8 weeks, confidence interval 95%.

What Pharmaust are achieving is Progressive Free Survival of between 120 to 180 days. That compares very favourably with chemotherapy treatments achieving an average of 82 days. This will be validated during the Phase 3 trial.

Remember, a dog on intravenous chemotherapy is a different dog compared to an oral therapy. The costs are possibly 20% of a chemotherapy drug. It is delivered by the owner.

Why do dogs succumb to Lymphoma B eventually. There are theories.

1. Cancer cells mutate and become resistant to the anti cancer drugs.

2. The cancer gene makes copies of itself and increases protein , of which the anti cancer drug finds it difficult to pass.

3. The cancer cells pump the anti cancer drug out of its cell by using glycoprotein.

4. Cancer cells " learn" to repair DNA breaks .
