i glass over when the banner comes up. It is meaningless and just consuming screen space and creates movement in an otherwise static landscape (the way have my screen set up. I tried portrait but not real flash for desk tops).
I am now self trained to ignore almost all advertising regardless of the platform - if it is shares or shoes, it is not going to be purchased based on a banner. In general, i don't buy much so looking at advertising is a complete waste of time. Maybe I am the wrong generation for the target audience of HC banners.
If i shop online, ole mate google is fine and then i am selective as to what i bother reviewing.
Same goes for automatic distribution list emails (thank you work and relentless companies that don't actually unsubscribe regardless of your efforts). God knows I am on plenty but i have rules set up to send most of that crap to the bin. For the ones I do review, it is usually to work out what new rule to put in and i get an instant dislike for the topic regardless of the content.
