The first shipment of Pfizer’s new oral antiviral treatment for COVID-19, Paxlovid, has arrived in New Zealand and will be available for those who need it from next week.

“While vaccinations and booster shots are the best defence against COVID-19, having more treatments is important for those who become unwell and need further treatment.

What is the cost of the new Covid pill?

COVID-19 antivirals to be free to patients during public health emergency. Paxlovid cost the U.S. government about $530 per course. Lagevrio cost the U.S. about $700 per course.3/09/2022
