    G'day MA420,

The ability of MPL to induce autophagy has been known for a while. This links to Prof Morris' early work on cancer cell lines:
    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4163620/

More recently, A/Prof Doug Fairlie at ONJCRI did some great work on a number of human cancer cell lines that implicated both autophagy and ER stress in MPL's anti-tumor activity (this was some pretty cool work with CRISPR editing to knock out genes responsible for apoptosis and autophagy, which is how they worked out something else was going on. Well worth a read - as I said, pretty damn cool).

There are a bunch of other publications discussing the role of mTOR in autophagic regulation - Dr Google can help with that.

But your 'bigger' question / point about describing the MoA is a good one - particularly as it relates to NDs. Lucky us - we now have our superstar scientist Dr Nicky Wallis on the case.

I suspect we will begin to see the fruits of her labour exploring the MoA and what makes MPL such an amazing molecule before too long.

    Happy reading.

    Cheers

    Densy
