I don't think it's a retracement on profit taking. After trading time a bid gets entered at 5.5 and an offer appears at 4.8 then an algorithm kicks in and voila someone has just bought 7 million shares at 5.3. Then suddenly the bid is 5.2 and the and the offer is 5.3, somehow I think there's a tad of hanky panky happening here. This is a sophisticated move and I can see why it works but not how.
