Just watched the 4 corners program; shocking to say the least. Was stated that over 50% of residents living in care homes suffer from some form dementia, yes over 50%
Also explains the slow uptake of the App. These tight bastards were holding out on incontinence pads for gods sake so there was fat chance they’d fork out the $10 per month for the App. The program goes to state that a lot of these facilities makes the patients seem sicker than they are to get the more funding from the govt not only for the facility but for the residence (which also goes to the facility).CROOKS!
This government royal commissioning into the aged care facility is a blessing and long over due. Care facilities now are going to have toe the line and would want to show that they are commitmented to providing the best care. The government should actually reduce some of the $5billion funding provided to these facilities which are fleecing them anyway and subside the app.... to ensure that it’s available to everyone in the homes!!
