The budget won't be passed before the election and I suspect Labor will do another one, perhaps keeping these aspects, perhaps not, perhaps offering more.

The coalition have framed and timed this election to be a vote on the budget.

Regarding the oppies, there are very few reasons why any party would convert them if they weren't planning to sell. Unless they were ultruistic which perhaps they are, who knows. I think they were due to expire in October this year? Maybe they got a quiet word, convert or we'll have to CR and dilute. Or maybe there is an announcement around the corner. Selling on market at the moment any millions of stock is hard and you can't help would push the price down to 3c or below. Not much fat in them options at that price.
