The downloads unfortunately dont tell you to much of the important information like financials and contract terms.
they could be trials or fudged. I dont think the latter is the case, but it's not a reliable metric.
in some cases free trials have long term detrimental effects to selling software as without the right training and governance it rarely gets used properly
