I felt great having HOPU as a major shareholder. They represented an important conduit with Beijing. With them gone / in the process of going (which I suspect, but do not know for sure) the company has lost an important influencer of the key decision-makers in China. This was my main reason in selling last week.
Keep in mind, Molyneux has a relationship with HOPU/Wang that stretches back 6 or 7 years. He advised them on their acquisition of PDN shares, and was appointed at their insistence to replace JB. He is very much their boy. His mission, from day 1, has been to facilitate this sale. If the CNNC deal is dead in the water (for whatever reason), and a massive dilution is on the cards, Wang would be the very first person to know.
