One of the fundamental differences is that ALL Australians would like to see the Great Barrier Reef survive and prosper. ALL Australians would want their elected representatives to do everything in their powers to do what's best for the Reef. If Ley didn't go overseas, people would be hollowing from the rooftops that the government doesn't care.
The Olympic's is a different story. Only Labor politicians and their muppets want the Olympic's for their political survival only. Definitely, NOT all Australian's, especially people residing in the QLD southeast, want it. I can remember before the Comm Games, the QLD government stated all the financial and infrastructure benefits the Comm games would bring. It would put the GC on the map globally was one. Now the QLD Premier is saying the exact same thing again.
Does this mean she failed to put the GC and SE QLD on the map globally? Is this an admission of failure from the Comm Games? I think so.
The federal government chose wisely and correctly by concentrating on the Great Barrier Reef.
