Nice one VC. You have taken a narrow picture of Israel history which supports your purpose to make the Jews invaders. In actual FACT the history of the Jews and Israel goes back thousands of years. Did you know Christ was a jew. His disciples were jews. The only people to have Jerusalem as a capital were jews. The jews were expelled several times in history and always tried to return. The first record of expulsion was when the Assyrians conquered Israel(Sumaria)in 733BCE. Then afterwards expulsions took place right through history. Expelled again after Babylon invaded in 597BCE. Expelled again after losing a 2 year war with the Romans in 70CE. <snip> ------------------------------- I don't think I've taken a narrow picture. When the British and French took Palestine from the Turks around 1920, by that time already, Palestinians were basically a state and fighting for the independence from the British, which was denied to them. If you watch that video clip above, you'll see that people who lived in Palestine looked like a legitimate nation with all its infrastructure.
So, you think that because some Jewish tribes lived in Palestine thousands of years ago, this land belongs to Jews? If we follow your logic than why not go even further back in time and say that whoever lived in Palestine before Jews, should be the rightful owner of the land?
Or, by the same token, would you say that the US should vacate the land and give it back to whoever lived there before them?
And how far back in time would you go? How would you work out a cut-off date to which we should go back in time?
The thing is that Palestinians lived like a well established people with many developed industries, education system, civil, cultural and religious infrastructure, had towns and villages with thousands of homes and it all was taken from them overnight, just like that, when the European Jews were arriving by the thousands. Maybe you should watch that video?
