The facts on Palestine (excluding Gaza Strip):
Many Palestinians are farmers and own land north of Tel Aviv. A lot of vegetable and roadside produce stalls not dissimilar to Mildura. They daily drive their cars and farm trucks from the West Bank into Israel.
There is only one crossing - shops either side anyway.
At the Temple Mount there are a few military and fewer cops but you walk unchecked from one side to the other. There are high stairs on the wailing wall side.
