THE Panguna landowners on Thursday last week reached a major decision to conduct a fresh election to vote for the office bearers of its landowner association. Currently, there are three Panguna landowners associations – the old association executives, the new executives and the interim Panguna executive. Over the past years, the three different groups have not been working together. At Thursday's meeting, the landowners said it was time for the landowners to have a single body with more powers to handle association matters. The meeting was attended by Autonomous Bougainville Government president James Tanis, who was handed a resolution by the people calling on the ABG to assist with the conduct of the association election through the office of the Electoral Commission.
