Will be a temporary closure. Mining around voids is very common in the industry. They will backfill the void with waste and restart mining.

The fact that they have temporariliy closed the pit probably means the old stope was either large or was smack in the middle of the pit floor and has impeded operations.

A negative is that they may have lost some ore into the stope. The question is whether the ore lost was in the pit reserve or not - and it probably was if the failure of the pit floor came as a surprise...
