Hi mickmaw,
Yes I now believe that there will be no formal announcement that the "specs" have been signed off on. The GDOT seem to have leapfrogged this formality and chosen to simply specify that EdenCrete will be used in 2 or 3 suitable projects in the very near future.
Just to clarify what the “specs” now entail. I recently received detailed clarification about important differences between the GDOT’s/DOT’s 24 repair mix and Class B applications. Class B applications are for low performance applications and as a result unlikely to be relevant to EdenCrete anymore, therefore I have ceased to refer to them.
Here is a list of what I believe will transpire over the next 5 months:
- News that the GDOT has actually awarded the 2-3 tenders that will signal the first of many commercial orders that will be placed by the GDOT for 24 mix repair mix applications.
- News regarding further additions to the EdenCrete sales team. Most of these appointments have already been made, however, a couple more would not surprise.
- Official news that an extremely well qualified electro-chemist with a PhD will be joining EdenCrete who will most likely commence on 1.11.2016.. This is an important announcement as it will lead to the development of more CNT based products, including hopefully CNT transistors etc.
- News that EdenCrete’s existing customer MARTA has put in another order (should come very soon).
- Feedback from the ca. 9 companies that are currently trialling EdenCrete for “readymix” applications.
- Feedback regarding several trials by companies in the “precast concrete” sector.
- News of very serious interest being shown by institutional investors (should come very soon).
- News about exactly when CS2 will become fully operational. Barring any unforeseen problems CS2 should begin full production from January 2017. This will be a momentous occasion!
- News that other DOT's have commenced placing orders or will trial EdenCrete for 24 mix repair mix applications. I expect these orders or trials to begin, at the latest, in the first quarter of 2017.
- News that other private commercial orders have been received (only really major orders can be filled when CS2 is up and running!).
- An update about the progress on the EDE- Deakin University – ASC ultra-high-strength concrete research project. If all goes well, which I am highly optimistic it will, this project will confirm that an awful lot of steel reinforcement will no longer be required. This will have massive implications for EdenCrete as well as the concrete and steel reinforcement industries!
- Further updates about EdenPlast which should include trials with several different companies.
- An update from the GDOT and/or the FHWA regarding the field test for Class A/Class 1 applications (could well be before the end of this year).
As you can see there will be an awful lot happening in the run up to January 2017 when CS2 will be commissioned! Which by the way could involve a big opening ceremony and TV coverage!
Best regards!
