    Nope no sense to me either.

    It seems that a price going opposite to expectations = manipulation on HC.

    It seems to me what really needs to be discussed is what is meant by manipulation.

    If manipulation means trying to force a favourable price then isn't everyone a manipulator? We all want the best price we can get.

    Price simply follows the law of supply and demand, surely!

    Just because an entity has the financial muscle to withstand losses while supplying the market to move a price to where it wants, does that = manipulation? I don't think so, name any market you wish the same activity happens. Take cars, doesn't a manufacturer flood the market with discounted cars if it want to shift stock. Of course it does, and that activity puts pricing pressure on the whole car market.

    I don't think manipulation has anything to do with shorting or forcing a price - that is just market activity.

    True manipulation is circulating spurious stories through social media and mainstream news. That is what interferes with normal supply and demand - the market trying to make sense of conflicting stories.
