Rather than TA In isolation I like to use a contra indicator for key sentiment turning points
Retail (Comsec) have been selling while advised/SI (Macquarie Insto, ML) have been accumulating. This is a wonderfully consistent indication of the herd doing the wrong thing at the wrong time. This has never changed as it embedded in all of us the sell low and buy high.
