I am currently 21 days into iPPS treatment. No I am not getting mine through Paradigm, Clinical Trials or the SAS, but never the less it is largely the same drug. Now to my pain reduction and increased function after three complete weeks. Could this be confirmation bias? Maybe... but let me give you a run down of the last three weeks. I was told by the Dr that given the extent of the trauma to my knee and that I was not his usual 'wear and tear patient', he was unsure how I would go with the treatment, which left me hopeful at best. Given the other failed medical interventions with my knee I really had no expectation going into treatment as I didnt want to be let down again. After the third injection at the start of the third week I couldn't feel any changes and my knee was actually quite sore. I was thinking 'yes sure, it takes some time to kick in' but in my head I was really thinking,.. 'this is just another thing that isnt going to work for me and my knee is going to be sore forever'. Towards the back end of the three weeks I have started to feel differently in my knee. Things which would normally agitate it aren't. Now I thought maybe this is just a good day, but for two, then three days in a row - feeling of normality felt unusual. Its a weird feeling to describe feeling somewhat normal again. I haven't tried to push my knee just yet to test the limits of how it really feels under decent pressures, but I have definitely taken it through its paces. The fact that this treatment hasn't even peaked yet has me even more excited. I will see how I go over the next few weeks introducing exercises into my day which would normally hurt and keep you all updated.

Now I would love for someone to back up what I am saying with evidence around reduction in pain and increase in function around day 21 - or am I just a biased share holder....

I also received an off label iPPS course for lumbar OA. My course was 6 weeks x 2x a week. I kept a daily log of my activities and symptoms. But I gave up on it around week 4 or 5 as I no longer had symptoms to log.

Curious as to why your doc chose a lighter course than mine, which I believe followed PAR trial protocols.

This was 6 months ago and I remain asymptomatic. I will look at another course around 9-12 months depending on how I’m going.

Best of luck, and this can’t reach OA sufferers worldwide too soon.
