there are a higher amount of people shorting zip. I believe this creates greater short term volatility in the share price but long term if the company continues to deliver the shorters can keep getting short term gains off volatility but loose overall as they keep getting caught out
it will be interesting to see what the new normal is after this quarterly.
many people still see zip and quadpay as two seperate companies. In the afterpay forum they are suggesting to only compare afterpay to zip or to quad, not both of them which is maybe how the market sees it too. Not for long imo.
I do like that zip is quite cautious in its announcements, everything very by the book and running a legitimate business
if you take a look at afterpay glass door there is a bit of employee feedback where management and employed are being asked to write fake 5 star app reviews.
ive been burnt in the past by companies lying about their results. Afterpay feels a bit shady to me zip feels more ethical.
