Forget the parachute theory. The pilot would have got found if he jumped with a parachute near Malaysia.
"The ELTs activate when the plane experiences an impact, contacts water or sinks to a depth of 3-4m."
That leaves only two possibilities. Either the plane made a soft landing on a runway or road somewhere, or the plane got completely destroyed by a missile strike. There is a third possibility - the sat company has reason to conceal or be misleading the sat data.
