Hi Mozzarc, glad to hear that you had a good trip.

Yes, that PPS is derived from the bark of the European beech tree struck me as being particularly interesting.

As most of you would know, the active ingredient in aspirin (salicin) is contained in the bark of the willow tree, and people have taken powdered willow bark as an analgesic and anti-inflamatory for a couple of thousand years at least (since the days of the ancient Greeks).

Many people - including yours truly - still take it in preference to the synthetic version, as the flavonoids and polyphenols that are present in the natural product provide a much broader and more complex path of action, which is still not properly understood, and unlike aspirin, it has zero side effects (no tummy irritation).

Isn't nature a wonderful thing.
