Yes I fit those little bump protectors to all our vehicles, not only do they protect your own paint but also the vehicle next to you because sometimes it is hard to avoid some contact which is exacerbated when the suspension moves as you sit in the seat. Personally I would not raise or lower any vehicle from the manufacturers spec because you affect the handling dynamics.
