I happen to agree on this with blueballs, I do not believe the current stock price is because of shorting - it may be but the reality is

A. CNP is suffering from a crisis in confidence.
B. CNP has infact experienced significant issues that have caused the stock price to go south.

However I also believe in the old motto "Under promise, over deliver." and I think that this is exactly CNP's plan.

Let’s not forget the exact words of Brian Healey’s.
“The last extension that the banks gave to centro was a turning point.”

My belief is it’s just a waiting game at this time.
