For me the video was more about politics as much as it was about anything else. What took an hour of viewing could have been summed up in 5 minutes, the opposition tabled several matters in an attempt to portray the Labour Party in a poor light but the ALP had all the answers and reconfirmed it’s strong support for Wave Energy and in particular the Albany project and sure the ministers handling of the situation has been sloppy at best and now the spotlight is being shone on CCE the scrutiny will be even greater over the next few months however I don’t believe that CCE is an orphan in being a Company that would not necessarily be viable without R&D funding. The purchase of EMC seems to have been the catalyst for Carnegie’s woes and I feel how to now divest EMC from CCE is the biggest hurdle at the moment, given the financial drain on CCE I have a feeling that the deal with TAG was probably the cheapest option available at that time but now that very transaction is in question while all the time the brand is being hammered in the media so moving EMC maybe even harder, as Coppernoob suggested I agree that the govt will allow the R&D funding to proceed and I also believe CCE will secure funding although I suspect not thru a CR. As far as the hydraulic leak at Garden Island goes whilst not ideal and apparently now rectified surely no one expects a hiccup free run when trialing these projects? One thing is for sure the board will be working it’s backside off on all fronts in the hope that it can achieve the best result for all
