big difference telling a politician you have the capacity in theory  compared to actually doing so and executing it to the full extent shareholders need in order to actually show they have a viable technology and real data to prove so.     Then CCE has to add up the viability in comparison to joining or partnering with a party who has access to European funding etc etc.

In theory any ASX company has the ability by raising funds.  Reality is who will participate and under what terms.   CCE have IMO a  large problem as the can't say they can't fund it as they would already have had to tell the market so they will have made contact with funders so they can say they are in the process  for example.  They may internally already know teh likely hood of suitable funding being available  but will try options to continue the process.

As for politicians you have to consider the flow on affects- they will support anything that looks green or fits a political narrative and gets fed funding into their state and a ribbon to cut as they can always walk away  mostly with little consequence and they have thick skins.   They have to be seen to be supporting business etc etc.

Reality - well ........  it has to end in something that is productive in one way or another otherwise it is just privately funded research competing in a world market where there is universities and governments with their own funding , ideas and resources .   Industry has the ability to wait and stay connected to all research and then pick a prospective solution and do final work and eventually deployment and weigh risks against what is happening in real world energy markets.   Long term support and funding is required and a commitment if certain hurdles can be technically met if projects are to get off the ground.   With CCE never publishing everyone is in the dark on the 15 year experiment to date  and it is a black mystery box to know what actual stage they are up to in solving key hurdles with the main one being the cost or other in use technology and it's scale up and cost reductions  and proven track records.   I can't see a easy path .

As for EMC - well no one can tell from what numbers I have seen released if the business they obtained and tendered for can actually be executed profitably  as there is plenty of competition out there.  Near impossible to value with the information in accounts but the speed of wanting to give it and cash away hints that all was not well as i just don't believe the explanations given in regards to tax and grant loss possibilities

Will keep watching to see what direction they take or are forced to take and if there is a possibility they can ever give something back to shareholders.
