re: parliment - just a thought... Thanks techcoat, one of the more sensible posts re. CAZ. Just a thought - as many people have speculated, decision taking longer than anticipated so govt. lawyers can ensure - as far as is possible - there are no avenues or grounds for appeal.
Now think - why would they spend the time bullet - proofing appeal avenues if they intened to award to RIO? If awarded to RIO, CAZ doesn't have - and is unlikely to raise - funds to fight protracted legal battle against multi - billion $$$ RIO. Remember, Investec funding, and BHP agreement dependent on CAZ securing Shovelanna. Both are much more likely to walk away than fund a protracted legal battle with very uncertain outcome, IMHO.
The point? IF the extra time is being taken to remove grounds for appeal, it leans towards CAZ getting the nod. IMHO.
Then again, the pollies could just be dragging their heels. 'Due Process' always takes time.
