    As you said the question is who.

    While I haven't come across definitive information on which specific individuals did what simply getting closer to an understanding is in my opinion a very worthwhile thing.

    For anyone interested in a crash course on how the US and other nations are influenced and even controlled by secret societies the following lecture by G Edward Griffen is very helpful.

    One of his references is Professor Carol Quigley's book titled "Tragedy and Hope". G Edward Griffen provides a very good explanation of how this book came to be published and I've found that it is available as a free download on the internet (scribd I think). Professor Quigley was a very eminent historian and although people have obviously attempted to suppress widespread publication of his work in the past no-one has ever (as far as I'm aware) attempted to dispute or 'debunk' the veracity of his work.
