Sharing two graphs that highlight the problem with current colorectal cancer screening participation in Australia. Despite ongoing efforts, the NBCSP hasn't actually managed to increase screening rates over the last 10 years, it's stagnated at just over 40% participation. It seems unlikely that the screening resistant population will suddenly change their behaviours, because they saw an ad on TV for example. Significant changes to the program testing methodology is most definately the pathway forward to achieving the desired 60-70% participation...which would save 4000 - 5000 Australian lives annually!
