Panasonic is Tesla partner in battery production only to the extent in Nevada. They have a signed contract with Toyota whereby they will transfer ownership of five battery manufacturing plants to a JV. Toyota shall hold 51% shares and Panasonic 49%. Tesla therefore; can no longer rely on Panasonic outside of Nevada. It has to look for new partners and new alliances. These may be BYD, CATL or LG.
