Orion Telecommunications is pleased to announce a
partnership with Pacific Internet in Australia
Australian-based telecommunications service provider Orion Telecommunications
Limited (ASX: OTL) is pleased to announce a strategic partnership between its
wholly owned subsidiary, Southern Cross Telco (SCT) and Pacific Internet, a leading
Australian internet communications service provider, allowing both companies to
expand their product offerings to customers.
SCT Chief Executive Officer, John Lawrence, said: “This partnership marks the start
of a new product for SCT with Pacific Internet being our first downstream rebiller
customer. Downstream rebilling will allow SCT partners and their customers to
benefit from SCT’s expertise and systems in the telecommunications industry.
Orion Chief Executive Officer, Wayne Barthel, said: “I’m pleased that SCT and
Pacific Internet were able to bring this product to market so quickly. The
responsiveness demonstrated by SCT throughout this project is testament to the
viability of this new product line.”
Pacific Internet launched its new fixed line voice product last week with Dennis
Muscat, Pacific Internet Managing Director, saying: ”SCT is very easy to work with
and has been extremely helpful and flexible in assisting us to move into this area.
We have negotiated and developed Pacific Internet’s own range of voice plans in a
record three month period – less than half the time that it would have taken with other
voice wholesalers.”
SCT is Orion’s largest subsidiary, with a proven track record in the
telecommunications industry going back to 1996.
