"For older dogs it advised to vaccinate them if they had not been immunised for more than a year.
Dr Clippingdale said he has had a case in a dog that was up to date with vaccinations.
"Of course no vaccine is 100 per cent effective but that would be one of the few that has been vaccinated that we've had a problem with," he said.
The virus does not affect other pet species, and does not pose a threat to human health."
Remember when Parvo first appeared, as if out of the blue. Remember people saying it was introduced via a meteorite from outer space. Never heard anything else as to how it came about. First time our farm dogs ever got vaccinated...and mighty quick at that as other dogs in the area had come down with it and met an early end.
