Main stream media agenda is to push opinions that suit governments, banks, people of power, etc. I don't believe Michael Pascoe would think much of his own article either, he would have been told to write something along these lines and he tried to do the best he could without any real ammo. Feel somewhat sorry for the bloke because it was an absolute shocker.
My favorite attempted gold beating in the media recently was on CNBC which compared the current gold price to a ponzi scheme. The presenter must be confused as to what a ponzi scheme actually is and if he wanted to give a proper definition of such he should have used fiat paper whose value is based on confidence and confidence only.
No doubt there will be more of this garbage. The day that CNBC says "buy gold" is the day I start off loading mine. In the meantime governments/banks/etc and their mass media vehicles will have the riot batons out trying to beat down the gold price any way possible.
